Those cool kids at AllSaints in Leicester are doing a 10k fun-run to raise funds for New Futures - in 80s-inspired outfits

We're delighted to announce that members of staff at one of Leicester's coolest fashion stores are getting their running shoes on to raise funds for the New Futures Project.

The team at AllSaints, in the Highcross centre, intend to 'run, hop, skip or jump' a 10km course through Victoria Park on Easter Sunday, (April 20).

To add a dash of style to proceedings, they have decided to do this in 1980s-inspired outfits. They will set off at 9am.

We will be there to support them. Frankly, we can't wait to see how they get on - and what outfits they come up with.

They tell us they have been training in preparation for their event and have picked up pledges of sponsorship from family and friends.

They’ve set a fundraising target of £500, which AllSaints will match once the event is complete.

Helen Sharp, fundraising, events and PR manager at the New Futures Project, said: "We are absolutely delighted the team at AllSaints has chosen to support us in this way and we'll be there on the day to support them too.

"The money they raise from this brilliant effort will do so much for the women we work with here."

The retailer works with Shelter to combat homelessness and is partnered with the Kaleidoscope Trust to fight for the rights of LGBTIQA+ people.

The company is also known for its support for initiatives to tackle fashion industry waste, the global scourge of human trafficking and the growing mental health crisis in the UK.

An All Saints spokesperson said: "At AllSaints, we believe our energy, passion and diverse experiences can help make a real, positive difference in our local communities.

"We put that belief into action through the AllSaints Community Fund, which reflects the values at the heart of our brand and brings together our people, customers and the planet.

"Established as a permanent part of our annual budget in 2022, the fund turns good intentions into tangible impact.

"It empowers AllSaints leaders and their teams around the world to support local projects that matter to them.

"Teams get involved in all sorts of ways - from bake sales and charity runs to local volunteering and creative fundraising.

"AllSaints backs them with practical support such as fund matching, mentoring and time off for volunteering, and cheers them on every step of the way."
